About My Speech - Adults

My Speech - Adults is a specialist and dedicated independent speech and language therapy service for all adults (aged 16 - 65+) with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. It is based in Hayling Island and surrounding areas.

The service takes a practical and holistic approach, working in close partnership with the person and their family, determining individual needs through discussion and assessment and tailoring therapy to meet those needs.

Experience and qualifications

The service has been set up and is led by Frances Webster, a specialist speech and language therapist, who has 17 years experience in all aspects of adult speech and language therapy. This is in community, hospitals and residential settings.

Frances qualified as a speech and language therapist at City University, London in 1996 and is a registered member of:

• The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• The Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP)

Since qualification Frances has worked in multidisciplinary teams in adult neurology, adult learning difficulties, a military rehab unit and has managed a mental health speech therapy service for the last four years in Surrey. In addition Frances developed and managed the adult speech and language therapy service in Gibraltar from 2000-2004 and traveled to Ghana, on request from the Government there, to assess the need for speech and language therapy in Ghana.
